(UPI) Veteran Mississippi broadcaster E. O. Roden of Booneville died Thursday night at a hospital in Clearwater, Fla. He was 65. Mr.

Roden, a native of Fulton, had been a leader in Mississippi's broadcasting industry since he founded station WBIP at Booneville in 1950. He organized the Skyline Radio network, which at one point had stations in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and Texas. Mr. Roden still was a major stockholder in WBIP AM and FM in Booneville; two stations in Gulfport, WGCM and WTAM; two Jackson stations, WOKJ WJMI, and two stations in Pensacola, WTKX and WBOP. He died at Mease General Hospital in Clearwater, where he was admitted following a stroke last week at his winter home in Dunedin.

Mr. Roden was on the board of directors of the Bank of Missisippi in Tupelo and was a member of the executive committee of the board. He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts of America and was active in mental health organizations in Northeast Mississippi. (AP) The Linwood School Board has voted to seek annexation of the district with the Pine Bluff School District because of Linwood's declining enrollment and stiffer education standards being set by the state. About 185 students attend Linwood schools, about 20 miles from Pine Bluff, and 24 teachers work there, Supt. Peter Daniels said.
