Active Talent Recruitment are a recruitment agency acting on behalf of our clientWe are currently recruiting for a Logistics Contract Manager to work for our client in the Mansfield area, our client is rapidly expending with continued growth year on yearWho are we looking for?We want you to “own it” so a natural leadership approach is a must, as you will be involved in everything from sales, operations, legal compliance, administration, and finance for your particular depot. You will be supported by our board and head office functions, reporting directly to the depot transport manager.What does a typical day include? As a Contract Manager within the group, you can expect creative freedom to run your, vehicles, teams and processes to ensure maximum service and profitability. You will be responsible for looking after one of our Key Contract Clients, whatever their needs alongside planning, routingour vehicles and managing a team of drivers to meet client requirements.Our Contract Clients are a large part of our business, as with all areas in the company, Customer Service is key and that is especially important within this area. The level of service required to look after our Contract Clients is extremely high. We aim to offer and provide a service that they hold in high esteem and ensures they never need look elsewhere. A portion of your time will be spent creating and maximising opportunities, so you must comfortable handling the commercials in a transport environment.You will have a modern fleet of vehicles and an IT system that supports efficient information and data transfer both internally and externally - we use Stream as our TMS and Webfleet as our tracking and telematics tool, experience with either is beneficial. Working with a dedicated Customer Service team who will support you in the role and ensure customers are kept up to date on the day of delivery/ collection as well as manage the POD & tracking processes. No two days are the same and we're looking for someone who can bring positivity and problem-solving skills to the fast paced environment What do you need? • Exceptional Customer Service• Previous Transport / Transport planning experience with Knowledge of Drivers Hours, tachograph and WTD legislation. • Possess excellent commercial skills and a teamworking traits.• Be able to demonstrate sophisticated communication and negotiation skills.• 2 years of transport planning experience with a fleet of over 10 vehicles preferred. • IT Literate, to include MS Office – particularly Excel

    “We can’t afford the costs associated with recruitment!”Many companies are looking at cost right now and as a business owner I understand why.But let me give you an example of a conversation I had recently with a client which may make you think that you can’t afford to NOT pay the costs for recruitment!A client of ours, a large automotive Dealer Group with over 50 sites, had a requirement for at least 1 Vehicle Technician per site.This means they are losing out on selling 2,000 hours per annum per technician.     "We don’t use Agencies because we've had a bad experience" - One of the most common responses i've had over the last 6/7 yearsIf you had a bad experience in a restaurant. The customer service was poor, the food was awful, and the toilets stank. Would you never go to another restaurant again? Unfortunately, many agencies are not that great. And thats being polite. 9 times out of 10 they will have over promised and under delivered. Non-Skilled workers turn up to site who haven't been reference checked at an increased charge rate, ultimately costing you, the client, a lot of money. There have been many cowboys who have tarnished the industry good guys!
